I dig the artwork as well. I had the Flying Dog Hefe this summer and their Pale Ale a couple of weeks ago. Nice stuff. I read so many good things about the Gonzo Porter - I keep seeing it in those little 4 packs but I keep passing it up. I should really grab it next time.

Well, I do not think that there is a BevMo in Marina Del Ray. The place that I am referring to is called Beverage Warehouse. It is exactly as the name describes: a warehouse of beverages. It is by no means affiliated with BevMo. In fact, if you go there, you will be very surprised at its location. It is in a small strip of random stores contained within a residential area. I imagine that they chose this location because it is cheaper than having a storefront on a major thoroughfare.

As for the beer, I think you may be surprised . . . its worth a shot I think.

I didn't realize there was a BevMo in Marina Del Rey. Might be worth the trip down there to save a few bucks I'd otherwise spend at the Whole Foods near my place.

Although we can agree on liking a few Big and Rich songs I don't think this beer is for me. It's an attractive bottle and all and I'm sure a lot of people would love it, but I just don't think I'd be one of them.

I'm wondering how this beer stacks up to North Coast's Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. The Old Rasputin is a big beer that is a bit over the top. I imagine their Old Plowshare is a different animal altogether. I'll have to look for this one.

I just tasted Acai beer in Cafe Joie Mission Beach San Diego. Its way better than i expected and light smooth beer with a slightly sweet acai flavor

Thanks for the info - my husband loves his IPA's and we're in SoCal, so hopefully this weekend, we'll be heading to LB's for some pub grub and IPA for him and a diet coke for me!

Moylan is really one of the good beers out there - It has a flavors of citrus, pine, caramel, spice and a dose of hops(in the mouth). A little bit of Bitter taste but still enjoyable. :-)

I'll give you credit for at getting wasted with what's considered a quality (if not the best) IPA around!

I'm not a huge fan of IPAs, I think its a beer style that one really need to work with. I've had a couple others suggested to me because I don't want to write off the whole style.
